My favorite time of the year is here: Miami Spa Month. My friends and I opted for Tierra Santa Healing House this year. And, our decision surely exceeded our expectations. Tierra Santa is located at the Faena Hotel in Miami Beach, FL. Faena “is an impressive 22,000 square foot sanctuary that features one of the largest hammams available on the East Coast. Along with shaman-developed body-healing rituals and treatments, as well as, technologically advanced facial treatments using Naturopathic and Biologique Recherche skincare lines.”

We began our day by taking a tai chi class which I found to be very calming. The breathing techniques allowed my body to reach a relaxed state and the moves challenged by sore body to the next level. Mastering my breathing allowed me to achieve deep depths of flexibility. My overall experience on this class was excellent. I enjoyed trying something new and connecting with my inner self.

Next, we moved onto all the amenities. I’ve decided to share what the spa has listed on their website so you can get an exact description of the treat you are in for.

Following information is directly from Tierra Santa Healing House website.

Staging Area

After a warm welcome, we will prepare you for the spa journey. Hang your robe, collect a peshtamal towel and slice slivers of handmade soap into a copper bowl. Settle your mind with deep cleansing breaths and you’re ready to begin.

Our Body Rituals

Body rituals that purify both mind and body at Tierra Santa’s Wet Spa area. Our approach to healing is very simple: we use only our hand-blended, plant-based Tierra Santa range of muds, scrubs and oils inspired by shamanic wisdom.

The Wet Spa at Tierra Santa

For an invigorating pre-treatment experience, guests are invited to enjoy the Wet Spa one hour prior to their treatment. Guests can add our unique Bathing Ritual, at an additional cost, with ingredients of our own organic hand-crafted range of muds, scrubs and oils activated by heat and steam, resulting in the ultimate cleansing and restoration of mind, body and spirit.

Waterfall

Every guest’s journey starts and ends in the Waterfall, a shower that prepares the body for heat therapy, and provide final cooling and cleansing before departure.

Hammam

A time-honored cleansing ritual featuring a heated hexagonal gobek tasi made of Amazonite stone where scrub treatments are performed by intuitive therapists. Destress while inhaling jasmine-infused steam and relax as the stone’s warmth soothes sore muscles and joints, easing all tension.

Herbal Steam Room

The hottest room in the facility supports advanced detoxification and cleansing. The calming aroma of eucalyptus is released to purify the respiratory system, deeply cleansing the nasal passages and lungs to promote ultimate relaxation.

Sauna

An age-old Scandinavian heat therapy with revitalizing wild orange essential oil. Multi-tiered, beautifully-curved seating is handcrafted from African Obeche and the walls are made from Canadian Hemlock, enveloping you in comforting warmth.

Ice Parlor

The marble two-seat Ice Parlor cools the body using a combination of ice and air. Interplay of hot and cold on the skin widens the arteries and stimulates blood flow and the metabolic system, which helps strengthen the immune system.

Tepidarium

Recline on heated stone beds heated to body temperature comforts and relaxes as you lie back and sip on our refreshing Tierra Santa rose bud tea.”

Furthermore, we moved onto our treatments after taking full advantage of all their amenities. I opted for Masaje de Coco which was a very relaxing experience. The feedback from the group was that their services were outstanding and would be back again. Let me know if you have any questions. Namaste!
